Entering the Kingdom of heaven is marked by continuous steps of faith. Faith that requires surrendour and trust in God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rich young ruler came to Jesus and asked what must I do to inherit eternal life? (Matthew 19:16 Paraphrased)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus responded: obey the commandments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To which the Rich Young Ruler said: all these I have obeyed since a child – what do I still lack?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rich young ruler correctly identifies; something is missing. I do all the right things yet there\u2019s a emptiness to his existence.. A lack meaning or purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And this is where Jesus points out his true problem – solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your identity. Your treasure. Your security. Lies in your wealth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The solution? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Give all that up and come follow me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every action Moses took was a step of faith in getting the Israelites out of Egypt. And then they got to the promised land and God required the Israelites (not Moses) to take a step of faith. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But fear took hold of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead of remembering the great and awesome miracles God performed to release them from the world’s greatest superpower (at the time) – they looked at the giants that inhabited the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The result – they ended up wandering in the desert for 40 years until God presented them with the opportunity to take that step of faith again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s a great analogy for what happens when you don’t action faith. You end up wandering. Aimlessly in the desert. Your life lacks purpose and meaning. Just like the rich young ruler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James 2:17 says: Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steps of faith prove our belief in Jesus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where is God encouraging you to step out in faith?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
